The default is that the search will be through all Products in the catalogue.
You can select to search sections of the catalogue, by using the drop-down list.
It will search for the supplied text in the Product Code, Product Description and Overview.
The + Symbol
To make sure that the search finds products that have all the words you enter, not just some of them, add the + symbol.
For example, to find pages that have references to both Lights and Boats, you could search this way:
The - Symbol
Sometimes, you want to find pages that have one word on them but not another word. The - symbol lets you do this.
For example, imagine you want information about Lights but don't want to products relating to Boats. You could search this way:
If you omit any of the signs, the + sign is assumed, so the first example could have been written as:
Using Quotation Marks
This is where you can search to give you products where the terms appear in exactly the order you specify. You do this by putting quotation marks around the phrase, like this:
Now, only products that have all the words and in the exact order shown above will be listed.
AND and OR
Only products that contain both words would appear in your results.
The default is that the search is for all of the terms you enter, that is the first example could have been written as:
lights and boats
You can also extend the search by finding products with either term, as follows:
lights or boats
