ZF MARINE PROPULSION SYSTEMS
A global leader in driveline and chassis technology
ZF is propulsion
ZF Marine is recognized as an outstanding and reliable partner for propulsion systems, supplying complete driveline systems as well as components for all types of vessels such as motor yachts, watersports boats, sailboats, government craft, high-speed ferries, work-boats and commercial vessels, covering a power range from 10 to 12,000 kilowatts.
The product portfolio includes a comprehensive range of transmissions (reversing, non-reversing and hybrid), propellers, steering systems, electronic control systems, azimuth thrusters, tunnel thrusters and sail drives.
ZF Microcommand 9000 Series
ZF MicroCommand/9000 Series ( formerly Mathers controls) is a robust control that has been long established as an industry standard in electronic control technology. This product is suited to all applications utilizing mechanical engines and gears with any combination of electronic throttle or shift. MicroCommand and has been tested to requirements set by survey societies such as ABS and DNV, and meet ABYC standards for performance and functional testing. The product carries the CE mark and is certified for sale in Europe.
Hard Wired or Plug-in Installation
Whether you chose a hard-wired installation or with optional plug connectors, MicroCommand and the 9000 Series make installation easier, cutting labour time significantly. Determine cable length, engine and gear requirements and you’re ready to connect the system.
Push Button Set Up
Push button set up makes configuring the parameters for your controls easier than ever before. Simply enter in the parameter code and the processor instantly makes the correct adjustments. Changing configurations later to meet new specifications is just as easy.
With each processor and control head operating independently, a hardware or connection issue does not render the boat unusable.
Our neutral start interlock feature prevents engine start up unless controls are on and in neutral and a station is in command.

Speed / shift sequence protection allows shifting from full ahead to full astern in one motion while preventing damage to the engine or gear. Designed with safety in mind, this sequencing technology allows you to respond instantly to emergency situations.
Engine synchronization is standard on all processors. Synchronization automatically maintains the same speed on multiple engines, thereby increasing operating efficiency, improving fuel economy, and reducing noise and vibration. One lever operation is available, allowing control of multiple engines and transmissions with one lever.
Multiple Control Stations
Each processor has the capability of supporting multiple control stations, which will allow the optional use of our handheld control unit in addition to mounted control heads. The 9000 Series supports five control stations.
Built-in Diagnostic Display
Each processor features a display unit which provides information for set up, system status, or diagnostic purposes.
